Wow. The people who wrote those articles must be part of the FDA!

Why don't each just go live in a big bubble away from everyone and everything so we can all be safe all the time!

Seriously - why can't we just live our lives like normal human beings?

Bad things happen occasionally. There is NOTHING we can do about it!

Geez!

Yup! Here's a few articles about some of them. My doc told me 25 lbs, but I just kinda threw that out the window.

http://pregnancy.about.com/od/nutritioninpregn/qt/peanutbutter.htm

http://www.amazingpregnancy.com/weekbyweek/foods.html

http://www.babycentre.co.uk/pregnancy/lookinggood/wardrobe/highheelsexpert/

The other stuff, I was just told here and there. Like strawberries and sleeping on your belly. Even so, I don't really listen lol!!

WHAT?!

First of all, I can't say that I have even heard of most of those things you mentioned, especially peanut butter when pregnant!

I asked my doctor about lifting things - because I still pick up and carry Jacob and he's over 40 pounds. She said that it's not "recommended" but people who try to get rid of their pregnancies can't end them by heavy lifting so I shouldn't worry about it.

I heard about smoking - that makes sense, coffee - I think it's only a problem with decaf or excessive amounts of regular. I have never heard about heels, cheese (eat it ALL the time), strawberries (WHY?!), nuts (i eat them by the handful), fish - I heard not more than a few times a week -- and not sleeping on your belly? I have never heard that - actually I heard do it while you can!!

I think the peanut thing is more for babies and toddlers, not for pregnancy. The article you quoted spoke about infancy, not pregnancy.

And I agree completely, moderation in everything -- if we only drink coffee, or eat fish and peanut butter, well, you can expect problems - just like if we only ate lettuce and apples!

Moderation and variety - a winning combination!
