A Couple Random Avaisms

Posted on December 8, 2008

The other day, when it snowed outside and the snow had covered my car, Ava said:

“Oh no! Mommy, look! The car is made of snow! What are we gonna do?!”

This morning, when I told Ava we were going to do school she said:

“But, Mommy, I’m too old for school!”

Sorry, kid. You are NEVER too old for school!

Ava met Santa today!

Posted on December 3, 2008

This was our first time taking Ava to see Santa. Every other year, I was just nervous about it, about her not getting what was going on. But this is the first year where she really seems like she gets what’s going on. She has been asking for a “Wonder Pup” for a few months now. Its the first time she’s ever really asked for something specific. So, I told her we were going to see Santa today and she was SO excited. She kept telling me what she was going to ask him for. We got in line at the mall and she had ants in her pants!! She kept asking if it was her turn yet. But she waited patiently and finally when he called her, she ran over to him and jumped in his arms! Her face was lit up like a Christmas tree! He told her to look at the camera and smile and she did a great job! She told him she wanted a Wonder Pup and she said “Thank you very much Santa!” He was pretty taken with her. As soon as she was done, I had to explain to her that now, Santa was going to go back to the North Pole, and tell his elves to make her a Wonder Pup. And then on Christmas Eve, in 22 days, Santa would come to our house and put presents under our tree when she was sleeping. She thought he would just give her the toy right there. She took it pretty well. Anyway, I was so excited, I love seeing the wonder in her eyes. It makes me proud to be her mom. So, here is her adorable picture with her ‘O.M.G. I’m sitting on Santa’s lap’ face.
